Do you want to know how to create an eco-friendly jewelry business? Perhaps you are looking for ways to reduce your impact on the environment for your business? Are you looking to purchase eco-friendly jewelry? Here are some of my favourite ways to create a more eco-friendly jewelry and studio environment. 5 Ways to Make a More Eco-Friendly Jewelry Business1. Use Recycled MetalRecycled silver metal is offered by so many suppliers. What I love to work with is silver metal clay. Metal clay is an eco-friendly product and is made from 100% recycled silver. It is created using old x-ray plates and film negatives. Once the silver is recycled it is turned into bars, which are then laser blasted into micro sized dust. This dust is added to water and a binder and new silver metal clay is formed. This process is also done with gold and platinum too. 2. Work from HomeWorking from home avoids the commute to work. It helps to save time and transportation costs. With less people commuting, it will eventually lead to lower greenhouse emissions over time. 3. Recycled PackagingMy jewelry is packaged in kraft jewelry boxes or cotton jewelry pouches. The kraft jewelry boxes are made with cardboard that can by recycled. They also come with a cotton anti-tarnish insert which is perfect for storing silver jewelry in. I also get deliveries from other companies and I keep the packaging boxes. I reuse these boxes when mailing out jewelry which helps to create a more eco-friendly jewelry business. 4. Lab created gemstonesLab created gemstones are an eco-friendly alternative. I often use cubic zirconia which is a synthetically created stone which I embed in pendants, charms and earring components. 5. Store and reuse scrap silver metalDon't throw out the scraps! I can take these scraps, weigh them and then melt them down. From there I have created recycled silver that I can use to make new jewelry! I hope this eco-friendly blog has been informative. Comment below which eco-friendly tip you found interesting. Take care and enjoy the Beauty of Nature!
