Broken chains can happen! Perhaps you tug on the chain or clasp a little too hard and it breaks. You have a pet who jumps up on you and their paw catches the chain. Maybe you have a pendant that's way too heavy for the chain. Today I want to share with you ways to help so your chains last longer. 5 Reasons Your Jewellery Chains Are Breaking1. Proper and regular cleaning of your jewellery is important. Here are some ways to clean your jewellery in this BLOG. 3. Last ON, First OffWhen wearing necklaces or any type of jewellery, they should be put on after your are dressed and taken off before you undress. Chains can get caught in your outfit and with a couple of tugs, the chain can break. 4. ClaspsEvery so often you will get a defective clasp. It happens. Fortunately, there is an easy solution. You can open up the jump ring with pliers and add a new clasp yourself or have a jewellery maker do it for you. 5. StorageWhether you are taking your chain off at night or packing it up to travel, always store each chain in its own individual ziplock bag. These bags help to prevent silver jewellery from tarnishing and from chains getting tangled with each other. Here is a BLOG on how to store jewellery when you are travelling.
